  • Syncade Login Error 'EncryptString' is null or undefined

    Hello,

We are facing this error message when trying to login in Syncade:
The value of the property 'EncryptString' is null or undefined, not a Function object Esig.aspx btnESigOK_onclick

This error is not for all users.

Also it's happening when using Edge with Internet Explorer compatibility mode.
Edge is used from a corporate domain and Syncade is running on another domain.

Is someone already faced this issue ? Any idea on how to avoid it ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Alright, I was able to reproduce the error. Your installation has to be older or have a need to use the encrypt.vbe in the esig folder. This sometimes needs to be turned on for support or older webparts. In newer installs it’s disabled out of the box and gets enabled via the web.config in the root directory via the SetCookies value. If you want more help I’ll need more information about when and where it’s failing. If it’s bombing out at the main esig everywhere and works from directly on all app servers properly I would look at the detected browser zone and IE based gpo settings.

      Thanks for your quick response.

We installed the system in 2017 and I don't know why it has been turn on.

We didn't face issue before but since we can't use anymore Internet Explorer on corporate laptop, it's appear since we are using Edge.
The pop up error appear in the main page while trying to login from Edge on corporate laptop.
I also tried with IE11 from my laptop and I am facing the issue too.

From application server when we are using Internet Explorer (old system), we don't face the issue. I am using the same user to try to login.

What do you mean by look at the detected browser zone and IE based gpo settings ? What can I check on my laptop where I am facing the issue ?

For Edge to function with Syncade you need to force your Syncade website to run in IE 11 compatibility mode. The enterprise site list allows you to create an xml file that can be pushed via GPO to your clients. If you leverage a jump server you can build the policy and link it to the Active Directory OU for your MES Systems and Jump Server(s) for example.
